"Billy Joel's Joyful Rebound"
By: Richard Johnson
(July 22nd, 2009)

Life is good for Billy Joel. Just a month after separating from wife #3, Katie Lee Joel, the "Piano Man" is dating Alex Donnelley, the former star of "The Young & The Restless." Joel - who continues to break records touring stadiums with Elton John this summer - met Donnelley through friends backstage at his recent Washington, DC, concert. "The two hit it off immediately, " said an insider. The actress has been visiting Joel at his home in Sag Harbor, where they go boating or ride around on Joel's custom motorcycles.

"Billy Joel Ill; Billy Joel/Elton John Concert In Buffalo, New York Postponed"
(July 24th, 2009)

Billy Joel and Elton John have postponed their concert in Buffalo, NY, because Joel isn't feeling well.

Concert promoters say Joel's doctors advised him not to perform Friday's sold-out show at HSBC Arena after he came down with flu-like symptoms.

A new date for the concert, a stop on the pair's "Face 2 Face" Tour, is expected to be announced next week.

"Billy Joel Ill, Postpones Second Upstate New York Show"
(July 25th, 2009)

Billy Joel and Elton John have postponed a second upstate New York concert on their top-grossing tour after Joel fell ill with flu-like symptoms.

The Times Union Center in Albany says in a release the pair have decided to delay Monday's show. The venue says Joel's doctors advised him not to perform for 72 hours because of his "extreme fatigue."

Promoters said Friday's show at Buffalo's HSBC Arena was postponed after the 60 year-old Joel came down with flu-like symptoms.

A representative for Sony Music Entertainment hasn't returned a telephone call seeking comment. Joel is on Sony's Columbia label.

Both venues are working to reschedule the shows.

The Billy Joel/Elton John "Face 2 Face" Tour has been the nation's top-grossing concert tour for the last two months.

"Billy Joel Donates To Trish Bergin's Campaign"
(July 27th, 2009)

Billy Joel may not be able to vote for Republican candidate Trish Bergin for Islip Town board member, but the "Piano Man" gave $2,350 to his former flame's campaign, according to state Board of Elections filings.

Bergin raised $41,834 in all as of July 10th, 2009, of which she still had $24,680. She got $2,000 from former US Senator Alfonse D'Amato and $300 from Senate Minority Leader Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre).

Her fundraising for the two hotly contested town board seats was second only to County Executive Steve Levy's former chief deputy, James Morgo, who raised $82,272 with a $63,454 cash balance.

Levy donated $1,000 and $200 came from former Brookhaven GOP Chairman Walter Hazlitt. Veteran town board member Christopher Bodkin, a former Republican running for the first time as a Democrat, raised $10,849. Records showed no fundraising for Democratic primary challengers Joseph Fritz and Alonzo Jacobs.
